La Cañada is a very peaceful suburb on the outskirts of Valencia, just a 15-minute drive from the city center, with everything you may need: restaurants, shops, pharmacies, bakeries, hairdressers, metro stations, etc. Just down the road, we have the nearest and largest forest area to the city of Valencia: La Vallesa. Ideal for jogging, going for a walk, or even having a swim in the river Turia. Our favorite thing about living here is the peace and quiet. It’s only when you leave the hustle and bustle of the city that you realize how nice it is to sleep in complete silence or to wake up to bird songs. Also, there are two metro stops near the Coliving: La Vallesa and La Cañada, which means that we are easily connected to the city. If you have your own vehicle, we have space for up to 6 cars, a couple of motorbikes, and some bikes in our private garage. It’s also very safe and simple to park outside the house. If you don’t have your own vehicle, here are our solutions: 1) Every co-liver will have access to a bike. This way, you can move around the area freely to get to the shops, restaurants, or the two metro stops that are just a 5-minute ride away (15-minute walk). 2) We can help you find a good deal for a car/motorbike rental. 3) If planned with enough time, we can take you to or pick you up from Valencia if our timetables align and/or we have organized something together. We value the importance of privacy, autonomy, and individual spaces, of which there are plenty. We always look for a balance between community and alone time. Security deposit is typically returned shortly after your stay ends. We will review your room for any excessive damage that would impact your security deposit return. Normal wear and tear are expected. We do not check your credit history. The main factors to be accepted into our community are honesty, transparency, and the purpose of your trip. As this is essentially a working environment, our facilities aren’t baby-proofed or child-friendly. Having kids around can be a major distraction for other colivers and you. So, it’s a no. We do not accept pets. By law, we allow service dogs. Our staff is allowed to ask two questions to determine what service the animal provides if it's not obvious: 1. Is the dog a service animal required because of a disability? and 2. What work or task has the dog been trained to perform? We define service animals as dogs that are individually trained to do work or perform tasks for people with disabilities. Examples of such work or tasks include guiding people who are blind, alerting people who are deaf, pulling a wheelchair, alerting and protecting a person who is having a seizure, reminding a person with mental illness to take prescribed medications, calming a person with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) during an anxiety attack, or performing other duties. Service animals are working animals, not pets. The work or task a dog has been trained to provide must be directly related to the person’s disability. Entire and deep cleaning is carried out every week, including linen and towel changes. We would expect and appreciate it that you clean up after yourself if you make any excessive mess. Yes, we have a washing machine in the house that is free to use and we also provide soap. If you need a laundry service we can help you arrange it. Send us a message and, if we can, we´ll try and arrange it! You have access to a kitchen that you can use anytime you want to prepare your food. We ask that you clean up any mess you make during and after food preparation. Of course! You have plenty of flexible workspace options to suit your mood and your requirements for the day. No. We provide all cleaning before the next resident comes. However, we would kindly ask you to make sure it´s not a mess before you leave. Yes, we have ample space for storage. Yes. The communal areas are cleaned once a week. Bedrooms every other week. Up to 8 people. Yes. The community manager is responsible for maintaining a good atmosphere in the house and the well-being of the members. Yes. Every room has its own lock/key. We take your safety very seriously. The last thing we want is to have a reputation for not being a safe place to stay. We screen our staff and residents; we provide 24-hour security with a local, patrolling, and private residential security company that, in case of an emergency, comes to the house in less than 5 minutes; and CCTV cameras are installed. Plus, you have people in the house practically 24 hours a day. Our coliving home is in a perfectly safe neighborhood where you can walk by yourself in the evening without any problem. With just a few minutes walk, you have a selection of good restaurants that we will happily guide you to. The La Cañada metro station is 1.5km away (15-minute walk or 6-minute bike ride) The Valencia airport is a 15-minute drive away. Well, everyone is different, so this is a tricky question. We are aiming for positive, smart, and open-minded people who are willing to connect in a more meaningful way and who have a growth mindset. We would highly recommend you go for a walk in the "La Vallesa" forest just a 10-minute walk away from the house.
