Property Description

The history of Valencia is linked to this fishing district. El Cabanyal-Canyamelar became an independent municipality in the 19th century under the name of Pueblo Nuevo del Mar. Today, it is still a fisherman’s district, the subject of some of the most popular postcards, depicting traditional scenes where life goes at a different pace. Its architectural value is immeasurable. In El Cabanyal, there are fishing huts and cabins, tiled façades, colored buildings, and modernist structures. From the Lonja de Pescadores (fish market) to the Grao Market, passing by the houses in the streets. The particular layout of its buildings and its street plans (the passageways are almost maze-like) also create a very authentic social atmosphere and way of life, which have been almost extinguished in large cities. Additionally, in recent years, a different feeling has spread through its streets. The younger generation has turned back towards the beach area, not just to understand its value but to enrich it with their cultural ideas. As has been the case with other districts around the world, bohemian sentiment has driven a renaissance. The area now has a network involving art groups and theater companies, with numerous projects on the go. As for cuisine, the district has also seen the arrival of a new wave of chefs with great respect for seafood. By the beach, it is always possible to enjoy good rice dishes, mostly the well-known paella. Located in the heart of El Cabanyal, Valencia's old fisherman's quarter, our coliving space offers a unique and authentic Mediterranean coastal living experience. Completely renovated and modernly furnished, our spacious and stylishly designed coliving space is housed within a relatively new building that retains the charm and character of this historic neighborhood. The property features a total of 456 m2 of living space with ample natural light and is situated on a 113 m2 property. The captivatively designed ground floor provides a shared living space, while the first and second floors offer 10 tastefully designed rooms, each with double beds, and the third level features a converted attic space containing 2 studio rooms with a double bed each. Our residents have access to a serene, modern, and comfortable space to live, work, and socialize with fellow residents. Join our community of entrepreneurs, remote workers, and digital nomads and enjoy the best Valencia has to offer. A very open-minded coliving, accepting all kinds of nationalities, cultural backgrounds, and sexual orientations. Founded and run by current digital nomads, so we are sure your needs are 100% covered. Most of the colivers work remotely; therefore, during the day, it's expected that quietness and respect be maintained so that everybody can keep their focus. We also host people working in Asian or American time zones, and so far, it's working perfectly. Of course, there is a lot of time to spend together. The kitchen and common areas are the main meeting points among residents, mostly during lunch and dinner. If the evening turns into party mode, the next step is to go to bars and restaurants in the neighbourhood. We welcome people with similar goals and lifestyles: remote workers, freelancers, developers, digital entrepreneurs, and students of advanced degrees, and we are proud to be able to give them a one-stop-shop full service that fits all their needs. What criteria do you use to evaluate potential renters? Can I lock my bedroom door? We cannot accept pets. We really love pets, but unfortunately, in the past, it didn't work. Not all colivers were able to live with pets, and we want to provide a space in harmony for everybody. All residents have a bedroom within the home for more privacy. Residents are to share the furnished common areas respectfully on the ground floor, and we can assure you that there is always somebody working, cooking, chatting, and having a good time. We do allow couples and friends to stay in our rooms, ensuring there’s plenty of space for your needs and comfort. Additional charges of 10€ to 13€ per extra person per day would apply. The second person pays only for the nights that she/he is sleeping over, not the entire month. By law, residents must communicate with the tenant if they are receiving visits; overnight, one-night stands do not need to be communicated. You have plenty of flexible workspace options to suit your mood and your requirements for the day. From your private room to the silent fishtank (see pictures) to any other place in the common areas. Digital nomads, entrepreneurs, young professionals, and students of advanced degrees. There are always some Spaniards in our rooms, but mostly there are people from Europe and America. Always, but let us know quite in advance because the house is full two months in advance. We are quite flexible with that. It is all about when the next person arrives and when the cleaning team is taking care of the room. Ask our manager; she will let you know. Personal data and ID identification. We can evaluate that. No. Once the room is cleaned, and if our staff doesn't appreciate any damages, usually between two and four days. In 2023, only one out of 46 guests was retained as part of the security deposit. People behave very well. Definitely. You can invite them to work, cook, or spend some time with you in the common areas. As this is essentially a working environment, our facilities aren’t baby-proofed or child-friendly. Having kids around can be a major distraction for other colivers and you. So, it’s a no. Unfortunately, not. We already had some past experiences and didn't work out Of course. If a room is released and you want to move in, you will have the opportunity to pay the rent difference. Smoking is strictly prohibited in any part of the building. That includes all private and communal rooms, hallways, balconies, etc. If you choose to smoke, please make sure you do so away from the building entrance, and please make sure you dispose of cigarette butts properly. Yes, everybody does. On the weekday, quiet hours are from 10 pm to 7 am, and 12 am to 9 am on weekends. As with any shared housing scenario, the golden rule is to be respectful of others in your community and not wake them up or disturb them if they’re trying to have a quiet night. As long as it is consumed in moderation, it is not a problem. Keep in mind to be respectful with the other residents. The common areas come fully furnished. Bedrooms are furnished with everything essential. You can add/remove any furniture (including the hanging of pictures) as long as the room is returned to its original condition at the end of your tenancy. The usual cost of your food, transport and any money you usually need to go through the month doing what you like. Unfortunately, not. Yes, every 2 weeks. We have laundry machines available to everyone. We don't provide that service. However, you can reach us using the subway; it is very easy. Yes. We offer additional room cleaning on demand. You have access to a kitchen that you can use anytime you want to prepare your food. We ask that you clean up any mess you make during and after food preparation. You also have a designated place in the refrigerator. Yes, yes, and yes. You have plenty of flexible workspace options to suit your mood and your requirements for the day. No. We provide all cleaning before the next resident comes. But please don't leave a mess behind. Yes, but it's limited. Only for some bags/luggage. No furniture. Yes. The communal areas are cleaned three times a week. Bedrooms every other week. Kitchen, eating table, chill-out zone, silent fish tank, TV, and laundry. Usually not, but we are open to new experiences. Usually between 10 and 16. Yes. The community manager is responsible for maintaining a good atmosphere in the house and the well-being of the members. She is not living on the property. We welcome people from everywhere, but we mostly have people from Europe and America. Most people are staying with us for a while. Between one month and six months on average, most of them around three months. Even though we have been lucky that nothing has gone missing, we recommend all our members keep their valuable belongings in their rooms. We take your safety very seriously. The last thing we want is to have a reputation for not being a safe place to stay. We screen both our staff and residents, provide 24-hour security and CCTV cameras are usually installed. Plus, you have people in the house practically 24 hours a day. Our coliving home is in a perfectly safe neighborhood where you can walk by yourself in the evening without any problem. With just a few minute's walk, you have a selection of good and cheap restaurants. Even though our location is good if you'd like to walk or bike, it's a short distance to the bus, train/subway. Ten kilometers away. Cabanyal is one of the two trendy neighbourhoods of Valencia, together with Russafa. Great restaurants (and not expensive), great nightlife mostly in summer, and the cherry on top of the cake: the beach is half a kilometer away / 7 minutes walking distance. We love to know a bit about them, their interests, expectations. All rooms have locks on the doors that are open with a digital PIN that only the guest knows.
