Commune on acre of rainforest

Come and enjoy a commune experience on an acre of rainforest in Coconut Grove, Darwin, NT, Australia. Beds in a share room or on the verandah ($30) plus sometimes have a bed in a tent in the rainforest. ($20). Please take a look at the pics. The house is a "troppo" architecturally designed home furnished with antiques and with lead light sky light windows in the ceiling. Buddhas hideaway, our home, has been running for around 20 years already, so has quite a history and works well to cater for people from all around the world. We have a pool and spa and, in the dry season, an open fireplace to sit around telling stories and playing guitar. Respectful nudist are also welcome, (although this generation are not as open as we from the 1970's). However, you are welcome to swim nude. Ours is a rural retreat with the advantage of being only minutes from shopping centers, hotels, restaurants and the beach. We have a lot of wildlife here. Possums roam the trees. We have green tree frogs in abundance, olive and carpet pythons and rare rainbow pitta birds, a resident ibis, cochold pheasants, drongos and owls to name only a few of the species which visit our garden. From the back of the garden you can stroll along the tidal creek to the mangroves and down to the bay. The house is about 15 minutes from the heart of Darwin, and only 5-10minutes from the airport. The no 4. Bus runs right past the end of orchard road. Darwin is small and quite flat so is a bike riding paradise. You will, if you come to stay with us, get to meet a lot of interesting people...well, I would not want to spoil the surprises. We have a number of permanent residents including a lady art therapist, a pilot, tour guide, artist painter and sculptor. I am an anthropologist and long term resident of the Northern Territory so can orient you and tell you lots of stories, some of which will make your hair stand on end. My first publication "Edge of the Dreaming: an Australian Memoir" is now available and I am happy to read you bits and pieces. You will find our place a home away from home. We sometimes take people who help out in return for a bed, but usually end up taking a room and falling in love with the place. Some people stay only a few nights but come back years later and send emails from all over the globe to update us of their adventures. Others stay for 3 years or so and find their true loves at our place. Room(s): 1.
