Nanaimo is a beautiful seaside city on Vancouver Island with many hiking trails, water sports and historic sites. There is city buses, bike or car rentals for transportation options. We have a fully furnished room with double bed, desk, dresser, closet and piano; there is a private bathroom beside the room. Common areas, living room and kitchen are beside this room. There is a yoga/workout room with a sauna that is also available to use. You must love dogs as we have 4 friendly chocolate labradors. Meals are self serve except for dinners we usually eat together. We are a busy middle aged, English speaking couple with 2 adult children who enjoy visiting our home regularly share meals and play board games. We have enjoyed hosting international students and backpackers for over 12 years and sharing a bit about our culture. We have a home based business in a studio that is built onto our home that teaches arts and crafts classes as well as our son uses it to teach kids computer coding classes. We have a large backyard with many gardens and fruit trees; we enjoy growing our own food as much as possible. We also like to make our own wines from the fruits that we grow and making craft beers. We enjoy hiking with our dogs, water sports, camping, gardening, playing board games and crafts in our free time. Room(s): 1. We ask that you please keep your room and bathroom clean and make sure doors and windows are securely locked when you go out. You are welcome to use the kitchen to cook but please clean up after yourself in any common areas. Our family is fully Covid vaccinated and we would require that you be as well. There is no smoking or drug use in our home; casual alcohol consumption is ok. We can help you navigate how to get here, most people fly to Vancouver then take the ferry to Nanaimo and we may be able to pick you up from the ferry terminal or there is bus or taxi service available.
