Smoking is strictly prohibited in any part of the building. That includes all private and communal rooms, hallways, balconies, etc. If you choose to smoke, please make sure you do so away from the building entrance, and please make sure you dispose of cigarette butts properly.

- Proof of ID (Passport or US driver's License)
- Proof of employment (Signed employment letter, employment verification letter, or last pay stub) It has to be an official document, no screenshots. For self-employed applicants, we will ask for the last 2 years' tax returns. We usually look for annual income to be x25/30 times monthly rent; if this ratio is not met, the applicant needs a US-based guarantor.
- Financial Proof (Full bank statement for the last 3 months, circling prior rent paid in the past and income received, other transactions may be blacked out/redacted)
- Landlord or character written references
- Pay $34 screening fee for background and credit checks (non-refundable).
- Once the application has been approved, the applicant must pay a 1-month security deposit (refundable) upon approval of the application and 1-month rent and utilities before the move-in date.

On the weekday, quiet hours are from 10 pm to 7 am, and 12 am to 9 am on weekends. As with any shared housing scenario, the golden rule is to be respectful of others in your community and not wake them up or disturb them if they’re trying to have a quiet night.
It’s your home, so feel free to enjoy a drink whenever you wish, so long as you are respectful of your housemates. If you want to party, make sure you do that away from the property.
Guests are allowed in the visiting area but NOT in the bedrooms. Strictly no guests overnight.

Most people are staying with us for a while. Between 7-12 months on average.
Even though we have been lucky that nothing has gone missing, we recommend all our members to keep their valuable belongings in their rooms. For extra precaution, buy a Renters Insurance in case of lost items and accidents.
Legally none of our doors in our shared apartments are allowed to have locks.
We take your safety very seriously. The last thing we want is to have a reputation for not being a safe place to stay. We screen both our staff and residents, provide 24-hour security and CCTV cameras are installed.
Bushwick is known for its local places to eat including the best tacos in New York City at Taqueria Al Pastor a short walk from the building.
- The best local things to do involve finding your favorite hidden spots in the city places to escape from the hustle and bustle. An example, is Nook... a coffee shop close to the apartment that has events at night and delicious food.
During the warm months, exploring the city by ferry is a great way to find new neighborhoods. From the building, take the L train to Williamsburg and then the ferry to Dumbo, Brooklyn to walk along the river and see the Brooklyn Bridge up close
Even though our location is good if you'd like to walk or bike, it's a short distance to right next to the L & M train.
The L line is conveniently located a couple blocks and takes you right into Manhattan or Williamsburg (another trendy and fun area of Brooklyn) in 20 minutes .
