Accomadation The house is a mid terrace Victorian three story town house with a garden in a quiet residential area. Facilities include chest of drawers / Wardrobe, TV/DVD, Mirror, Desk, chair, Lamp, towel stand and laundry basket. Please note remote working from home/studying bookings are not accepted. Accommodation is a single room in my home on B&B basis, please note not self catering, The Guests may prepare light meals only, use microwave to heat up food/ready meals and use the kettle and toaster. Breakfast A continental breakfast is provided which consists of cereal, croissants, toast & preserves, juice, tea or coffee. Directions From Gatwick Train to East Croydon (change) Train to Norwood Junction (change) Train to Gipsy Hill Turn left out of station, walk down Gipsy Hill Turn left at the end of the road (The Paxton) in front of you Walk along road until you come to Kingswood School road is opposite the school on the right. Alternatively taxi/Uber. From Heathrow Take tube - Piccadilly Line to Green Park. Take Victoria Line to Brixton. Outside tube take No 3 bus to Crystal Palace. Get off at Gipsy Hill Stop. Cross over the road keep right on Gipsy Road keep walking turn right into road opposite Kingswood School. Getting Around You can plan your journey around London online at Transport for London (TFL) or on Citymapper App. An Oyster card or travel card can be purchased from tube/train stations or newsagents. Gipsy Hill is well situated in Zone 3 with excellent transport links to the centre 30-45 mins. The nearest station is Gipsy Hill (5 mins walk) with links to London Bridge, Victoria, Norwood Junction and Clapham Junction. The nearest tube is Brixton on the Northern Line by number 3 bus. No 3 bus goes direct to Brixton, Whitehorse Parade/Trafalgar Square. Night bus N3 operates from 00.43 am to 6.09am. Herne Hill Station 5/10 mins by bus (3) trains from Herne Hill go direct to Blackfriars, city Thames, Farringdon, London St Pancras. Gipsy Hill and the surrounding areas Herne Hill/ West Norwood/West Dulwich/Crystal Palace offer a variety of restaurants,cafe's, sports centres,vintage shops/markets, parks, libraries, cinema and amenities. I am a retired primary at home during the day. I enjoy cooking, cinema, theatre, music, travel, salsa, tango, Zumba and gardening. Room(s): 1. Single Room (Room 2) with Shared bathroom This is a bright, spacious, nicely furnished single room. It is equipped with a wardrobe and drawers, a desk and chair, TV/DVD and blackout blinds. Fresh good quality bed linen and towels are provided. Capacity: 1 Rates: 245.00 Weekly / 750.00 Monthly House Rules: For safety, security and insurance purposes please secure and lock the front doors ,close your window and turn off and unplug electrical devices before leaving the house. Guest are responsible for insuring their own personal belongings CHECK IN - (From 2pm - latest 10pm) or by arrangement Keys - (Turn all keys to the left to open doors) There are a set of three keys 1. Long mortice key with ORANGE cap to enter first (porch) door from street, lock after entering. 2. Long mortice key to open bottom lock of inner door 3. Smaller (Asec) key to open top lock 4. Close inner door by turning knob on top lock, release and close door, do not lock inner door. Please ensure only the key with the ORANGE cap is used for the first door, this is a burglar proof lock and will break if the wrong key is used. Check keys before they enter locks and do not force them. There is a charge for broken locks and key replacement. Check out - 10 am Please take your outdoor shoes off when entering the house. The house is a non smoking household. Please use dining area to eat meals/drinks Tea/coffee to be consume downstairs No guests Please enjoy your stay and make your self comfortable and at home. Additional Info: Guests are responsible for insuring their own personal belongings. The room rate includes the following services: Room cleaning and laundry once a week. Internet access is FREE. The accommodation offered is B & B in a family home shared with host. Guests may use the kitchen for light quick meals and to heat food in microwave. Guests booking in advance are required to pay £100 security deposit which is refundable at the end of the stay, provided no loss or damage has been caused. One free wash is included for stays of one week. Any additional wash is £5 per wash.
