Welcome toToronto ! I'm Chinga, your host. I have lived in my downtown old Toronto house for 42 years and never have a problem. My place is located right in the heart of the City and is near popular 2 parks with large public tennis courts and basketball courts: the popular Trinity Bellwood Park and Stanley Park. We are surrounded with residential and commercial buildings. Across from us is a large office building and to the left is another office building. Parkdale Library is only 7-15 minutes away but a 24 minute walk will get you there quickly. Our location is most of the time not affected by brownouts due to storms & heavy snow as downtown old Toronto has energy priority. If you want to experience living in a safe home in downtown Toronto, live with us. One other reason why students like my house is that the walls are covered with mirrors from entrance hallway, to living room, dining room, washroom and bedrooms. Our place is near Lake Ontario so fresh air especially at night comes handy. University of Toronto, Ryerson University, York University, OCAD University, George Brown College, Humber College and many Language schools like ILSC, ILAC & KAPLAN are just 3-5 km away and will take you only 18-30 minutes to get there by TTC public transit. Our area is very safe even if you come home late at night, still, a lot of people are on the streets and police cars are patrolling around all night. No curfew. You are mature enough I don't need to monitor you. King and Queen streets are frequented by mostly young people roaming around the pubs and restaurants until 2 am. Subway stations nearby are OSGOODE station on Queen Street West and St. ANDREW station on King Street West. Both stations are 15 minutes away from my place by TTC. Very safe even to walk from subway to my place at night especially patrolling police cars and taxis are all over both streets. Our house is also secured by a home security door bell camera to shun intruders. Included in the rent are use of bed linens, electricity, hot/cold water, cookwares, kitchenwares, dishes like plate, bowl, spoon & fork, unlimited wifi and once a week free use of washer/dryer weekend only . NOTE that you are responsible for your own supplies: bathroom supplies, kitchen food supplies, laundry supplies like detergent and stuff. Note also that we don't offer meal of any kind. You will have your own kitchen shelf and fridge shelf and shoe shelf. For nightly cooking, I offer use of Rice cooker, Air Fryer, water kettle, Toaster, Keurig coffee maker and Microwave Oven. You are only responsible for washing your own dishes and to clean the mess you created and bringing your own garbage to the bins in respect to the other people living here. You are provided with a brand new clean slipper as no shoes are allowed to use inside the house. You are also provided with a large garbage can in your room. Make sure you sort them as for green food bin, for black garbage bin and for blue recycle bin when disposing. ROOMS: 1) ( AVAILABLE July 2, 2026) This white room is overlooking CN Tower fully furnished with beddings and thick winter blankets for winter, has a double bed, white matching furnitures with thick mattress, 2 desks and an office chair, a large dresser, a vanity table with mirror and chair, big closet, and a large standing mirror. Pictures are displayed in my website. 2) (AVAILABLE May 30, 2026) This yellow room is with real pine wood set of armoire furniture from Art Shoppe back in the 80s and a wide tall huge mirror fit for a 6 footer person. Fully furnished with beddings and thick winter blankets for winter, has a double bed, matching furnitures with thick mattress, a desk and an office chair. Lots of storage with 3 pull out storage under the bed, 2 secret storage above the bed and 2 big closets on both sides. Pictures are displayed in my website. 3) (NOT AVAILABLE) This room is a IN apartment with single bed with thick mattress, TV, and a 3 piece washroom with bidet. Very quiet room suitable for someone studying for a big exam. My place has newly been renovated, has clean rooms and no clutters around the house. Students maintain their rooms and the house quite well so I expect you do the same. They most specially like the simplicity of my rules. Some of my students told me they looked around for other places and decided to stay for more or less a year. I am also blessed that my students are happy and friendly people. OCCUPANCY: 2 months minimum stay. 12 months maximum stay. NOTE: FREE PARKING ONLY WHEN YOU COME TO SEE THE ROOM. Room(s): 1. Double Room (WHITE ROOM) with Shared bathroom This room is a large room on the top floor overlooking the CN tower. Capacity: 2 Rates: Weekly / 950.00 Monthly 2. Double Room (OAK ROOM) with Shared bathroom Capacity: 2 Rates: Weekly / 950.00 Monthly House Rules: My place has newly been renovated, has clean rooms and no clutters around the house. Students maintain their rooms and the house quite well so I expect you do the same. They most specially like the simplicity of my rules. I ask for a non-refundable deposit of $600. This is deducted from the first rental payment. First and last month rent is collected upon arrival plus $500 security deposit. If the guest cancels the booking, this $600 is forfeited and not refunded. The $500 security deposit is refunded when you leave provided it is not used. Example of when it is used: If you lost your keys. I give you 3 keys: 2 for the front doors and one for your room. Each key costs $12. If you lose 3 keys, $12*3=$36. $36 will be deducted from your security deposit. Also Pls google " STUDENT LOST HOMESTAY KEYS". If you break a window for example will also be deducted from your security deposit. You are responsible for washing your own dishes and putting it away into your own shelf and to help clean the mess you created like sweeping the floor. Also weekly moving garbage from the kitchen to the bins in the garage. You are provided with a clean slipper as no shoes are allowed to use inside the house. You are also provided with a large garbage can in your room. Make sure you sort them as for green food bin, for black garbage bin and for blue recycle bin when disposing. You are expected to stay until the end of your booking. A 10% cancellation fee is charge if you leave early.
