We are friendly, easy going, love meeting people from other countries. creative type people: Marianne artist / art therapist. Martin - up-cycling furniture / works for an Australian organisation. We both do some volunteer work, and Marianne is also disabilities support worker. We both love to read, catch up on tv, walk the dogs, socialise with friends and family, and sometimes travel. We have enjoyed hosting many people from many countries. We will help orientate you around the local area, and transport system, entertainment, attractions, walks, sport and events in Sydney. Transport: Bus stop 5 minutes walk away ; Beacon Hill, McDonalds @ Warringah Rd: 160X to Chatswood Train Station - then to city etc , every 10 mins: 30 min travel 160X to Dee Why central, every 10 mins, to B1 express connection ( Palm Beach - City) 15mins travel to DY beach 20 mins travel. 193 Warringah Mall, DY Central- -Frenchs Forest + Northern Beaches Hospital Bus stop 10 mins walk Tristram Rd Beacon Hill 199 to Manly Wharf The buses are regular + interchange with other services. Free street parking available, as long as it gives our neighbours plenty of space, and doesn't cause any problems. We prefer guests who are tolerant & kind to our old dogs. 2 small dogs that live indoors / outdoors. We have hosted many wonderful people of all ages for many years. Our main expectations of our guests are that they are communicative, respectful and friendly. Please help with the dishes & dishwasher if required. Please be respectful of all other guests and home security. All visitors must be approved & a photo ID is required by every arriving guest, and any other visitors in bedroom areas. Over 18's only please, our house is not suitable for young children, or babies. too many safety issues with stairs and pool. Younger people by request only. Double Room (Goldilocks small double room) with Shared bathroom small but cosy room, with desk, wardrobe & street view. good for a single person or a couple. small double bed. shared guest bathroom. Capacity: 2 Rates: 440.00 Weekly / Monthly 5. Double Room (Serene Blue Room) with Shared bathroom Serene Blue Room with big comfortable queen size bed, lovely garden / pool view. Bathed n sunshine in the afternoon. Plenty of storage space, built in wardrobe, drawers, full length mirror. Study desk, chair & power points. Great for couples. Capacity: 2 Rates: 480.00 Weekly / Monthly House Rules: *Payment Method: Please note that we require our guests to pay 50% of the booking total to us in advance of the booking to hold your room (on top of the 15% deposit is paid to Homestay.com) *total amount of payment is required by day 2 of your stay *Cancellation Policy: We ask our guests to give us at least 7 days’ notice for any change or cancellation. Any refund is entirely at our discretion. No camper vans or caravans please. Please shut the front doors properly, don't let the dogs out on the street unleashed. Always close the 2 front doors properly by pulling them shut when you leave. All guests and their visitors are required to have photo ID photo copied on arrival. No unregistered strangers in the house or garden, and no visitors without prior permission. Switch off all devices, lights and heaters when you are not in your room. Be respectful of other guests, hosts and their privacy. Never enter another guest’s room unless invited. Keep noise down in the bedroom areas after 9pm. Be mindful of noise and opening and closing doors quietly in the upstairs area. Host’s studio / office / bedroom / garage are all out of bounds to guests. Please help keep kitchen and bathroom areas clean and tidy, by cleaning up your own spills. Notify us of any stained bed linen or towels, so they can be soaked or washed before becoming permanently damaged. Fresh linen is always available. Notify us of any spills or stains on the carpets immediately. No wet swimmers / wet suits in house. No sand to be brought in to the house and bathrooms. 1 use of clothes washing machine per guest per week. Clothes to be dried on Hill’s Hoist in sunshine, or drying rack. Host’s are happy to help with laundry if available. No ‘batch cooking’ or oil burning cook ups in our kitchen. No burning food and pans. Guests cooking must use the kitchen exhaust. Only 1 use of cooker permitted per day per person, at a time discussed and pre-organised with Marianne or Martin. Pans and dishes must be washed thoroughly, dried and returned to cupboards after use. No food preparation, storage , or disposal of food waste in the bedrooms or guest bathroom. Please use compost / rubbish / recycle areas in kitchen laundry area. 1 small bag or box of food only permitted in the kitchen fridge. Guests must replace any canned food “borrowed” from hosts. All people are required to wear clothes top and bottom in the communal indoor areas. Smoking is permitted outside. Guests must use ash trays for cigarette ends. No candles / smoking / incense / wax or fragrance burning devices / open flames of any kind allowed in the bedrooms. No mail or parcels to be delivered to our home address without prior permission. Any guest’s forgotten / left behind items to be donated or binned 2 weeks after guest’s departure unless claimed. Please take care of your house keys. Loss of keys & replacements costs $150 per set + possibly cost of a locksmith which will be billed to you directly. Please don’t feed the dogs at the dinner table. Ask Marianne or Martin before feeding them any scraps. If in doubt put scraps on laundry counter for checking. Please be kind to the pets, as they can't write reviews but they can bite.
